Willie Nelson has suddenly had to cancel several upcoming appearances due to an undisclosed illness.

Just hours before Willie Nelson was expected to take the stage for the Outlaw Music Festival tour his team released a statement on his social media confirming that he is currently battling a sickness and requires time to recover.

“In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will perform a special set to include Willie’s classics and other songs. Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse will continue to perform as scheduled.”

The 91-year-old legend was scheduled to kick off the annual Outlaw Music Festival tour, which includes performances by Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, John Mellencamp, Brittney Spencer, Celisse, and Southern Avenue on various dates beginning today, Friday, June 21 in Alpharetta, Georgia. According to the statement, it seems Nelson will also be absent from the tour stops scheduled for Saturday in Charlotte and Sunday in Raleigh.
