Trump Speaks Out On Assassination Attempt, Says To “Stand United”
Former President Donald Trump released a new statement early Sunday after the alarming shooting incident.
On Saturday, July 13, a terrifying incident occurred at a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump. The event turned chaotic when gunfire erupted, leading to a tragic loss of life and injury. Trump himself was injured, with a bullet grazing his ear, while a spectator lost their life and two others were critically wounded.
The rally, held in western Pennsylvania, had just begun when the first shots rang out. Trump, six minutes into his speech, instinctively grabbed his right ear and dropped to the floor. Secret Service agents swiftly surrounded him, ensuring his safety and escorting him off the stage amidst the chaos.
Authorities quickly identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Positioned on a rooftop overlooking the venue, Crooks opened fire before being “neutralized.” The motive behind the attack remains unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.
Trump’s Statement On Truth Social
Just a few hours after the incident, Trump took to Truth Social, his social media platform, which he launched in 2022, to share his experience.
He described the moment the bullet grazed his ear, expressing his immediate realization of the danger.
“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin,” Trump wrote. “Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”
