WATCH: Jelly Roll Defends Morgan Wallen At Free Show In Tampa Last Night: “My Friend Is Sick As Sh*t”

Stickin’ up for his friend.

Yesterday evening, Morgan Wallen took to Twitter to announce his show in Tampa, Florida (originally set to take place last night at Raymond James Stadium), would be rescheduled to October 4th due to illness.

Morgan also announced that next week’s back-to-back shows at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte would also be rescheduled to this fall on the 18th and 19th of October.

Shortly after the news, Jelly Roll (who was slated to open for Morgan tonight alongside Nate Smith), tweeted out he would be performing free for fans who held tickets to tonight’s show at the Dallas Bull, and according to videos of the line on social media, boy did it fill up fast.

During the free concert, Jelly Roll acknowledged and addressed the elephant in the room, admitting that Morgan is “sick as sh*t”

“I need to say this early in the show, because I want to make no mistake about this. Morgan Wallen is a dear friend of mine who is so sick I could not believe he did that show last night. I’m gonna stand up for my friend when it’s right to stand up for my friend.

My friend is sick, y’all. My friend is sick as sh*t, and you post that sh*t on the internet… ’cause my dude is sick as f*ckin’ sh*t y’all. I told him don’t do the show last night, I told him. I’m glad he took the day to rest his body. I was heartbroken, I didn’t want to leave without singing some music for some motherf*****s that came out here for this.”

While you can’t fault Morgan (or anyone for that matter), for coming down with an illness, you can always count on Jelly Roll to step up and make sure fans, especially those who traveled hours, still get to see a live performance. And that’s what fans love about him.
