Surprise! Morgan Wallen Releases ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ by Popular Demand [Listen]
Morgan Wallen is giving his fans what they want with the arrival of a new song titled “Lies, Lies, Lies.” The song was previously recorded as a live track and included on his Abbey Road Sessions project, and quickly became a favorite.
New music is what many thought Wallen was working toward when he deactivated his Instagram page in late June. Just days after telling fans that he’d been in studio, he closed up shop on Instagram without explanation.
“Cowgirls” partner and fellow Big Loud record label artist Ernest did the same, but others in their circle did not. Artists often stage a stunt on social media ahead of dropping new music, although not many go quite as far as Wallen did.
Wallen has yet to reveal if “Lies, Lies, Lies” will be a part of an upcoming album or if the track will be a stand-alone single. At the time this article was written, he had not reactivated his Instagram nor updated any of this other social media sites with any information.
Any news of new music for Wallen would be coming at a pivotal time in his life and career. His One Night at a Time Tour is one of the biggest in country music and he continues to perch at or near the top of sales, streaming and airplay charts most weeks, either as a solo artist or as a collaborator.
He’s also got an Aug. 15 court date coming to discuss felony charges stemming from allegedly throwing a chair from the roof of Eric Church’s bar in Nashville in April.
So far, Wallen’s music has remained relatable even when autobiographical. Fans have rarely been able to pin any one song on one relationship or set of circumstances. “Lies, Lies, Lies” could be the first taste of his next album, but he has opted to release it quietly without reminiscing.
