Jay DeMarcus And Son Dylan Sing “Bless The Broken Road”

On Friday, June 6th, Jay DeMarcus was joined by his 12-year-old son, Dylan Jay, for a writer’s round at Nashville’s famous Listening Room Cafe. The venue was created to showcase Nashville songwriters in an intimate setting. It has hosted artists of every caliber, from rising talent to seasoned hitmakers.

The father-son duo sang one of Rascal Flatts’ most well-known songs, “Bless The Broken Road.” Originally written in 1994, the song has been recorded by a handful of artists, including the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. However, Rascal Flatts found the most success with their 2004 version of “Bless The Broken Road,” which became a #1 hit on the Billboard charts and earned them a Grammy Award for Best Country Song.

It is clear that musical talent runs in the DeMarcus family. At such a young age, Dylan beautifully sang the heartfelt ballad and elicited cheers from the audience as he effortlessly sang the notes.
