Lorrie Morgan Mourns Death Of Her Beloved Husband, Randy White
Randy White, Lorrie Morgan’s Husband Of Nearly 15 Years, Dies At Age 72
Country music singer Lorrie Morgan is mourning the death of her beloved husband, Randy White.
Randy was born on May 15, 1953. He attended school at Volunteer State Community College and went on to operate a successful landscaping business.
Lorrie and Randy married during an intimate ceremony on the beach in September 2010. Randy had four children of his own, while Lorrie had two. Together, they made many treasured memories as a big, blended family.
In April 2024, Lorrie shared that Randy had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. Then, in April of this year (2025), Lorrie canceled some of her appearances after Randy was hospitalized in Tennessee. Lorrie’s good friend, Pam Tillis, stepped up to fill her spot on Alabama‘s tour.
Sadly, Randy passed away during the early morning hours on Sunday (June 1). He was 72 years old.
Lorrie’s friend and manager, Tony Conway, confirmed the news by releasing the following statement to PEOPLE on her behalf:
“Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
Lorrie And Her Son Jesse Keith Whitley Pay Tribute To Randy White
Lorrie shared the same statement in a post on her official Facebook page. She paired the emotional message with a sweet picture of her and Randy together at the Opry.
Lorrie’s son, Jesse Keith Whitley, also paid tribute to Randy. Jesse’s own father, country singer Keith Whitely, died in 1989 when Jesse was just shy of two years old.
Randy married Lorrie when Jesse was in his 20s. Jesse, who’s now nearly 38, knows that Randy played a pivotal role in his life during some of his most formative years.
“…I can say that the recent years of my life all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old this great man has been here and loved my mom , and also me & my sister as we were his own.” Jesse said.
He spoke more about the type of man Randy was, and how much he meant to him, writing:
“He showed me love and showed me a relationship with Jesus even though I grew up Catholic , I kinda distanced myself a little from it. He has been the best grandfather for my kids they could ever ask for. Has come and picked me up late night when it wasn’t safe to drive and was never mad .. not even once (this happened multiple times lol). Even when I called from a jail cell he laughed at me and said well I’ll be there in a little bit…”
Jesse remembered Randy as someone who showed “unconditional love” to Lorrie, and was “the most gentle soul to ever grace” their family.
He ended his message by writing:
“As we say our goodbyes , I reminisce of all the good times we have had & the battles he has helped overcome. I can’t tell you the amount of love that has poured in from fans, family and friends. We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan!”
