Levi Wright’s Parents “Find Peace With Letting Him Go” Following Drowning Incident
The family of 3-year-old Levi Wright is preparing to “hold him … for the last time on this earth,” according to a new update shared by Levi’s mother.
Kallie Wright, the wife of rodeo star Spencer Wright, shared an emotional update on their son Levi nearly two weeks after the toddler nearly drowned.
On May 21, 3-year-old Levi Wright rode his toy tractor into a creek on his family’s Utah property. Local authorities responded to a call saying that Levi had disappeared from sight. The child was found unconscious roughly a mile downstream and airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City where he has remained in ICU.
Levi woke up two days after being hospitalized, an event that offered hope to his family. But, the following day, Kallie shared that the MRI results didn’t look good.
“The MRI wasn’t good, we’re shattered but it is just images that suggest a certain quality of life,” she wrote. “Our real teller of all will be what Levi does over the course of a few days. Please continue to pray! I’m not giving up on my baby just yet.”
Levi Wright Update
In a post made to Facebook on Sunday, June 2, Kallie wrote that after much research, prayer, and consulting with “the world’s best neurologists,” they have made the decision to take him off of life support.
“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world’s best neurologists & millions of prayers we are here in the face of our biggest fear,” Kallie wrote. “Levi showed us just enough to buy us time for all of this. We prayed those things were him defying odds & proving to us that he wanted to stay here but we see now he wanted to give us time to find peace with letting him go.”
Kallie added that “soon I’ll climb into bed with my baby and hold him as he falls asleep for the last time on this earth.”
She added that she is finding comfort in knowing that Levi “will be restored to the perfect little boy he was and do all the things he loves.”
“We will miss him every second of every day down here but feel without unwavering doubt this is the best thing we can do for him!” she concluded.
The statement was accompanied by a video of Kallie and Levi riding a tractor together.
Our heartfelt prayers are with Levi Wright‘s family during this difficult time.
