The initial episode drew record viewership, generating 9.2 million streaming views within the first two days, surpassing previous milestones. In fact, the premiere outperformed that of Season 1 by an impressive 262 percent, establishing itself as the most-watched debut for any original content on Paramount+.
This success positioned Landman among the top three original shows in its release week, cementing its status within the streaming landscape, which prompted the swift renewal announcement.

While specific plot details for the upcoming season remain under wraps, lead actor Billy Bob Thornton reassured fans he will reprise his role as Tommy Norris, quelling rumors of his departure.
