IDOL: Emmy Russell Delivers Dazzling Brandi Carlile Cover During “Disney Night”

The top five American Idol contestants had a magical celebration at Walt Disney World, where Emmy Russell made a triumphant return to compete on the show’s enchanting “Disney Night.”

The talented young vocalist advanced into Idol‘s Top 5 after delivering stunning performances in previous weeks. She won viewers’ hearts with her renditions of songs such as “Shut Up and Dance” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

She also performed a touching tribute to her grandmother, Loretta Lynn, by singing “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Emmy joined Triston Harper, Will Moseley, Abi Carter, and Jack Blocker in the Idol Top 5. The contestants celebrated their success with a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida.

Emmy Russell Showcases Her Beautiful Voice During “Disney Night”

The contestants’ Disney World visit surely inspired them as they prepared their songs for “Disney Night.” Country singer Kane Brown mentored the Top 5 in their rehearsals before the big evening.

Each member of the Top 5 performed two songs from Disney’s extensive catalog of beloved films. For her second “Disney Night” performance, Emmy took to the stage to share her version of Brandi Carlile’s “Carried Me With You” from Onward.

Emmy wore a prismatic dress that caught the light and shined like the glittering background behind her onstage. She also appeared to be singing directly to her mother, Patsy, who was watching in the audience and smiling with pride.

The judges made it clear how much they adored Emmy’s performance. They also noted how she appeared more comfortable moving around onstage and praised how much she’s grown.

Did Emmy Russell Make It Into The Top 3 On American Idol?

Sadly, “Carried Me With You” was the last performance of Emmy’s Idol journey. At the end of the night, it was revealed that Abi Carter, Jack Blocker, and Will Moseley were the contestants moving on into the Top 3.

So Idol viewers were left to say “goodbye” to Emmy Russell and Triston Harper, who were eliminated. We’ll sure miss watching them perform on the show!
