Brooks & Dunn Fans Express Concern After Ronnie Dunn Appeared To Be “Struggling” During Concert
Fans are worried about Ronnie Dunn after the “Neon Moon” singer walked offstage during a recent Brooks & Dunn concert.
Ronnie and his bandmate, Kix Brooks, performed in Indianapolis on Thursday (April 3). The Country Music Hall of Fame duo kicked off their Neon Moon Tour on March 13
During the Indianapolis show, fans thought Ronnie acted like he wasn’t feeling well. At one point, the 71-year-old vocalist stepped back and sat on some stage risers while he performed.
A TikTok user who shared a video of that moment said, “Prayers for Ronnie Dunn! He left the stage in Indy sick tonight.“

Ronnie returned to his feet for the encore, when he and Kix performed their #1 hit from 1992, “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.” But Ronnie appeared to be having a tough time as he sang and wasn’t his usual energetic self.
Once they reached the chorus, Ronnie stopped singing entirely and let Kix take over.
Another TikTok user shared a video of the moment when Ronnie turned toward a member of Brooks & Dunn’s band and made an “I can’t” motion over his throat. He took a few steps before turning around to face the crowd.
Pointing at the audience and tapping his chest, Ronnie seemed to be saying that his voice wasn’t up to par. He waved to the crowd to say “goodbye” before he walked offstage.
Fans worried about Ronnie in the comments sections of these TikTok videos. Several pointed out that he’d recently gotten over being sick and was maybe still working to recover his voice:
“Was there too. Really wanted to hear I Believe but understand he was struggling.”
“I knew something was going on! He didn’t sing as much as he normally does.”
“We were there and I was concerned about him, too. I remember him saying at one point that he could hardly breathe, but he had been singing really hard when he made that comment. Praying for him!”
“Saw him at Houston Rodeo 03/22..was just getting over COVID.”
“We were there too. It looked like he was struggling throughout the entire night.”
“I saw on his insta that he had the flu/strep two weeks ago, possibly still struggling? I was so sad and worried to see him leaving.”
“Saw them in Austin couple weeks ago & he said flu/strep was killing him. No time off to get well.”
If Ronnie feels better, Brooks & Dunn’s next show is tonight (April 4) in Peoria, Illinois. They have another show scheduled for April 5 in Rosemont, Illinois, before taking a multi-week break.
Hopefully, that break will give Ronnie the chance to rest and recover. The duo’s tour will resume on April 24 in Des Moines, Iowa.
