BREAKING: Country Thunder Florida Cancels 2024 Festival Due To Safety Concerns

Country Thunder Florida has been canceled just one week ahead of this year’s event, and fans are upset.

The three-day event was originally scheduled to take place from Oct. 18-20 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida with Luke Combs, Jon Pardi and Bailey Zimmerman as headliners. Unfortunately, in lieu of the recent devastation that swept the state as a result of Hurricane Milton this week, organizers have made the decision to call off this year’s festival.

Country Thunder and Country Thunder Florida shared a joint Instagram post on Friday, Oct. 11, letting fans know that they have been working closely with Osceola County Emergency Management and Osceola Heritage Park to determine whether or not the festival grounds would be safe to welcome flocks of fans in the coming weeks. After careful consideration, it was determined that they are “unable to safely hold this year’s Country Thunder and must inform everyone that this year’s event has been regrettably canceled due to factors outside of our control.”

The message went on to extend sincere apologies to all concert goers who were looking forward to attending, and especially those who have been impacted by the floods.

“We sincerely wish the best to the people of Florida as they begin the process to clean up and repair their lives after the destruction caused by Hurricane Milton, and especially our CT Nation fans who have been so supportive of our festival over the years.”

All ticketholders will be contacted within 30 days with instructions for how to obtain refunds. Country Thunder also shared that any further updates will be provided on social media.

“As always, a huge thank you to CT Nation – for your patronage, your support, and your understanding in what has been a difficult time,” the post read in conclusion.

Many fans were understanding of the decision to cancel the event due to the current circumstances, however others expressed their frustration stating this was an event that locals were hoping would lift some spirits after the recent tragedy that struck their communities.

“A lot of us here in fl actually were looking forward to this to provide some positivity after what’s been a challenging few weeks. its a week and a half away. cancelling seems a bit excessive and ridiculous. Unreal,” one post read.

Another user wrote, “What’s one more disappointment to a bunch of people that were looking forward to a festival for a year after two hurricanes,” while someone else said, “This is a bad call team. We need this now more than ever 😢”

While this news is disappointing for fans, many still expressed that they are looking forward to the return of Country Thunder Florida next year.

The next Country Thunder event is expected to take place in Arizona From April 10-13, 2025.
