Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton brought vintage country gold to life in their new music video for “A Song to Sing.” The clip features a throwback, roller-rink vibe, and even includes wardrobe pieces with ties to two of the biggest legends in country music history.
Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ Jewelry Featured in the Video
In a social media post, Lambert revealed that her hoop earrings once belonged to Dolly Parton, while Stapleton’s lion-shaped necklace came from Kenny Rogers’ estate.
“We had legends there in spirit with us,” Lambert said, adding, “What an honor.”

She also shared that Dolly’s hoops weren’t just iconic — they were clip-ons. “These are Dolly Parton’s hoops,” she explained while holding them up. Pointing to Stapleton, she added, “And this is Kenny Rogers’ necklace.”

Why Did They Use Dolly and Kenny’s Jewelry?
Lambert didn’t give a direct reason for including the jewelry in “A Song to Sing.” However, the retro vibe of the video may be a nod to Parton and Rogers’ legendary duet “Islands in the Stream.”
Back in July, Lambert said she and Stapleton had to “channel our inner Dolly and Kenny” when recording their duet. Borrowing these accessories may have been the perfect way to do that.
The Meaning Behind “A Song to Sing”
“A Song to Sing” is a heartfelt love song about keeping relationships strong while living life on the road. Lambert said Stapleton understood the lyrics on a deep level because of his marriage to Morgane Stapleton, who often tours with him.
Lambert, who married Brendan McLoughlin in 2019, related to the message too. “To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life — and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level,” she explained.
