Watch Phil Robertson’s Celebration Of Life [VIDEO]

Two weeks after Phil Robertson’s death, his family is inviting fans to view his private funeral and celebration of life.

Phil Robertson, founder of Duck Commander and patriarch of Duck Dynasty‘s Robertson family, died May 25 at the age of 79. His death came just months after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and a rare blood disorder.

His family often shared updates on his health online and on their podcasts: The Duck Call Room and Unashamed. There was an outpouring of support for the Robertson family as they cared for Phil in his final days. Following Phil’s death, the family shared that they would be celebrating his life in a private family funeral, but that a public event would likely be held in the future.

Phil was laid to rest on May 29, and roughly one week later, the family released the video of his funeral. His son Willie thanked fans for their support following Phil’s death, saying, “Our family has been surrounded by an outpouring of love, encouragement, and prayers as we said goodbye to Phil. Your messages, stories, and support have meant more than we can put into words.”

He added that the family wanted to share the service due to the love they had received and how much Phil was loved.

“Phil meant so much to not only all of us, but to so many of you. Because of that, we wanted to share the service with everyone. Thank you for loving our family through this season. We’re grateful, and we know Phil would be too.”

Phil Robertson’s Funeral

The video of Phil Robertson’s funeral shows each of his children speaking to the roughly 400 attendees. Phil’s daughter-in-law, Missy, and some of his grandchildren led the crowd in worship and sang some of Phil’s favorite hymns.

Videos of some of the family’s favorite Phil moments and some sweet moments he shared with his wife of more than 60 years.

The funeral was full of laughter, tears, and worship as the family honored Phil Robertson’s legacy as one of the most outspoken Christian figures of our time. His son, Jase, shared the Gospel with the crowd after sharing a story about how he knew Phil was ready to meet the Lord.

“He was ready to meet the Lord. How many humans can say that? How many people are ready?” Jase said. “I think I would do this crowd a disservice if I didn’t say, if you’re not ready to meet your Maker, if you’re not thrilled by the story of Jesus, where you want to live it and you want to talk about it … Use this moment. Use my dad. Use this to find your way to be thrilled by Jesus.”

The footage of Phil’s funeral also gives a glimpse of his wife, Miss Kay, who is seen wiping away tears and laughing at times.

How is Miss Kay doing since Phil’s death?

In a recent episode of the Duck Call Room podcast, Phil’s nephew, Jay Stone, shared that Miss Kay is staying with him and his wife, Anna.

“Miss Kay is staying with us now,” Jay said. “And she’s doing good. She’s surrounded by her family. There’s people in and out. She doing good. She’s eating good.”

Willie Robertson sat down for an interview with USA Today on Sunday, one week after his dad’s death, and shared an update on Miss Kay. He told the outlet that “Kay is not in the best of health. We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”

He added, “Some of it is she is just depressed. She lost her partner of 60 years.”
