Karen Waldrup Joins Dan + Shay For Lady A Hit On “Voice” Finale
On Monday night (May 20), Team Dan + Shay’s Karen Waldrup performed for America’s votes for the last time on Season 25 of The Voice.
After many weeks of competition, including Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockout Rounds, Live Playoffs, and now the Live Finale, the competition was narrowed down to Asher Havon and Josh Sanders from Team Reba, Nathan Chester and Bryan Olesen from Team Legend, and Karen Waldrup from Team Dan + Shay.
Night One of the Voice finale featured each contestant performing two songs, a slow song, and an uptempo tune. Country star Keith Urban also took the stage to perform. Night Two was all about celebration as the voting window was closed and the performances were more about soaking up the moment than winning votes. The three-hour show featured star-studded performances from Jelly Roll, Kate Hudson, Thomas Rhett, The Black Keys, Lainey Wilson, and more.
The finale also featured each of the five finalists performing with their coach! John Legend, Bryan Olesen, and Nathan Chester performed together, and Reba McEntire sang with Josh Sanders and Asher Havon, while Dan + Shay and Karen Waldrup took on Lady A’s 2017 release, “You Look Good.”
This collaboration comes one night after Waldrup’s incredible finale performances.
Waldrup’s first performance was Rascal Flatts’ 2006 hit “What Hurts The Most” followed by Jo Dee Messina’s “Alright,” which served as a full circle moment seeing as her Blind Audition was a Jo Dee Messina cover as well!
Shay Mooney praised Waldrup after the “Alright” performance by saying, “One thing that I want to say that you’ve done so well is you have never strayed from the path. You’ve done exactly what you’ve wanted to do and I’m so proud of you … I can’t wait to go see you in concert. I love you so much.”
After their amazing collaboration, we wouldn’t be surprised if Dan + Shay brought her on tour with them soon!
