Morgan Wallen’s much-anticipated Sand in My Boots Festival is set to return in 2027, bringing excitement after its cancellation in 2026 due to logistical hurdles rather than a lack of commitment from Wallen himself. The event will take place from May 21-23 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and the full lineup was unveiled recently.
Lineup Announced for the 2027 Festival
The 2027 edition of Sand in My Boots showcases a range of talent, with Wallen headlining alongside Ella Langley and Kings of Leon. This marks the festival’s second occurrence, having debuted in 2025 before taking a hiatus last year. The 2027 lineup appears to echo its predecessor, featuring a blend of genres including country, rock, and EDM.
While the roster includes numerous fresh faces, it lacks some notable artists who were part of the inaugural festival in 2025. This absence raises questions among fans and industry observers alike.
Notable Omissions Spark Curiosity
Artists like Hardy, Bailey Zimmerman, and Ernest, who frequently collaborated with Wallen and performed in 2025, are conspicuously missing from this year’s bill. Hardy, who headlined last time, stands out as a surprising omission, given his close friendship with Wallen.
Interestingly, none of these artists have conflicts that would prevent them from participating during the festival dates. However, it’s possible they may have prior commitments that are not yet publicly announced.
Additionally, the festival seems to have moved away from featuring legacy country acts, which contrasts with fans’ expectations for a more traditional lineup that included iconic figures from the genre. While previous iterations did bring a selection of classic country artists, 2027 appears to favor a contemporary and diverse sound instead.
Without any legacy acts, the closest representation of veteran country performers this time includes relatively newer names like Midland and Cole Swindell.
Ella Langley’s Rise to Fame
One standout from the lineup is Ella Langley, who has elevated her status from a lesser-known act in 2025 to a headliner in 2027. Having released her successful album Dandelion and her hit single “Choosin’ Texas” since her last performance, Langley’s ascent is emblematic of the rapid changes in the country music landscape.
Her presence alongside Wallen suggests they may perform their duet “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” adding to the anticipation for fans of both artists. The festival promises a vibrant atmosphere with plenty for attendees to look forward to in 2027.
