Reba McEntire & Danny Joseph Perform Ray Charles’ Classic “You Don’t Know Me”

Moments before Danny Joseph learned his fate during the finale episode of The Voice, he performed with his coach, Reba McEntire.

We first met him during the Season 26 Blind Auditions.

Danny Joseph performed a soulful rendition of “I Put a Spell On You,” earning four chair turns. Snoop Dogg even used his one and only block on Michael Bublé! After hearing all the coaches out, he chose Reba McEntire as his coach!

For the Battle Round, he was partnered with Deon Jones for a powerful duet to “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World.” While both performers gave it their all, McEntire chose Joseph to move forward in the competition.

During the Knockout Round, Joseph sang Susan Tedeschi’s “It Hurt So Bad” against Tate Renner, who performed Jamey Johnson’s “In Color.” Once again, McEntire chose Joseph to move on.

For the Playoffs, Joseph put his best foot forward with a take on “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” with McEntire choosing him over Katie O, Edward Preble, and Lauren-Michael Sellers to move on to the live Semi-Finals.

Joseph performed Chris Stapleton’s “I Was Wrong” during the Live Semi-Finals.

After the fans voted, he was in the bottom four with Team Snoop Dogg’s Christina Eagle, Team Reba’s Adam Bohanan, and Team Gwen Stefani’s Jan Dan. Each performed a Last Chance performance, with Joseph singing “The House of The Rising Sun.”

America voted to keep him in the competition, making him McEntire’s only contestant in the finals.

The Finals began on Monday, December 9.

During the finals, each remaining contestant performed two songs, one up-tempo and one ballad. First, Joseph performed “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” as his up-tempo song. The Luke Combs hit was a perfect fit for Joseph’s signature gravelly voice.

Then, he performed Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black” as his ballad.

During the Finale Results episode, held on Tuesday, December 10, Joseph performed with his legendary coach.

Joseph and McEntire teamed up to perform the classic “You Don’t Know Me,” by Ray Charles. Many artists have covered the timeless track since its release in 1962 such as Elvis, Willie Nelson, and even current ‘Voice’ coach Michael Bublé. Joseph and McEntire had everyone singing along as they gave it their all in the final performance.
