Reba McEntire has shared her first public words after the death of Brandon Blackstock, her former stepson. The country music superstar hasn’t posted to her own social media yet, but she let fans know she will miss him deeply.

Reba McEntire’s First Words on Brandon Blackstock

On Monday (Aug. 11), Reba McEntire commented on an emotional tribute her son Shelby posted three days earlier on Instagram. Shelby described his older half-brother as “an irreplaceable part of our family — funny, bright, and full of life — and he will be deeply missed.”

Reba McEntire replied, “Very well said, Shelby. Yes, we will miss him so much,” adding several heartfelt emojis. This short comment remains her only public remembrance of Brandon so far.

Relationship Between Reba McEntire and Brandon Blackstock

Brandon Blackstock was Reba McEntire’s stepson during her marriage to Narvel Blackstock. Although they were not biologically related, she often said she loved and treated him like her own family. Brandon’s birth mother, Elisa Gilbert, was married to Narvel from 1973 to 1988.

Brandon Blackstock’s Marriages and Family

Brandon Blackstock married Mellisa Ashworth in 1999, and they had two children together. They divorced in 2012. Later, he married Kelly Clarkson, with whom he had two more children. Mellisa Ashworth recently posted her own tribute, thanking friends and fans for their prayers and condolences.

Before his passing, Brandon was with his partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, as noted in his obituary.
