Lainey Wilson Wins Best Country Album Grammy

After leaving the CMA Awards in November with an impressive five wins, (including Entertainer of the Year), Lainey Wilson has now secured her very first Grammy Award for Best Country Album.

Lainey Wilson Makes CMA Award History

Lainey Wilson made history this year with a record-breaking nine CMA Award nominations, the most ever. At the 2022 ceremony, she earned six nominations, the highest for any artist in their first year. Wilson is the first artist in CMA history to achieve the most nominations in their first two years on the ballot.

First-Time Grammy Nominee

The bell-bottom cowgirl made her debut as a first-time Grammy Awards nominee this year—a truly impressive accomplishment, which she won! Kelsea Ballerini, Tyler Childers, Brothers Osborne, and Zach Bryan were all up for the coveted award.

While accepting the honor for her album Bell Bottom Country, Wilson expressed, “This is absolutely wild, y’all.”

“This is my very first Grammy,” she noted, adding that the album “has truly changed my life.”

“Thank you so much to my collaborators, the co-writers, the musicians, anybody who had anything to do with this record.”

Also in her speech, Wilson nodded to her 200-person hometown and her roots as a “fifth-generation farmer’s daughter.”

“It’s about getting up every single day and planting those seeds and watering them and watching them grow. And sometimes when you find the right farming community, you can have a harvest of a lifetime and I truly believe that. I think that’s exactly what this is tonight.”

Congratulations, Lainey on a well-deserved accomplishment! Watch her acceptance speech below.
