Lainey Wilson & Miranda Lambert Release Long-Awaited Duet, “Good Horses”

Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert have officially released their highly-anticipated duet “Good Horses” on Friday, August 2.

The country music pair have been teasing their collaboration for months leading up to its release. Wilson and Lambert first hinted at the song when Lambert surprised the audience at one of Wilson’s shows in Las Vegas by performing the then-mystery track.

The duo once again performed the song during the opening weekend of Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again Tour in June.

At the beginning of this year, Wilson appeared on Audacy’s Totally Private podcast. During the conversation, she shared the story of writing “Good Horses” with Lambert.

The creation of “Good Horses” began when Lambert invited Wilson to her farm. Wilson recalled, “Miranda was like, ‘You need to come out to my farm. You need to, first of all, take a nap. I’m gonna make you take a nap.’ And I did,” she laughed.

Once there, and after her nap, Wilson went on to say that as they were writing the song, a major sign that it would be something special appeared.

“We were sitting on her little balcony of one of her cabins. We were writing this song and they were in the exact same place they were when they wrote ‘Bluebird,’” referring to Lambert’s 2019 hit. “And, as we were writing the song, three bluebirds flew up. And, when they were writing ‘Bluebird’ three bluebirds flew up, too,” Wilson shared. “I believe in signs like that. I think it’s a really special song.”

“Good Horses” will be featured on Lainey Wilson’s upcoming album, Whirlwind, which is set to drop at the end of this month.

Lainey Wilson has been giving fans a sneak peek into her upcoming fifth studio album by releasing a few singles over the past few months. So far, fans have heard “Good Horses,” “Hang Tight Honey,” “4X4XU,” and “Country’s Cool Again,” leaving ten new tracks to discover when the album releases on August 23.

“Writing & recording these 14 songs over the past couple of years has helped me stay grounded in ways you’d never believe,” Wilson wrote to fans when announcing the tracklist for Whirlwind. “This album brought me back to my roots and made me feel at home during times when I couldn’t have been further away and my biggest hope is that it gives you that same sense of comfort that it has for me.”
