Lainey Wilson Received Two Awards At The 2024 ACM Honors

Country music superstar Lainey Wilson was recognized with not one, but two awards at the 2024 ACM Honors. Carly Pearce and Jordan Davis hosted this year’s ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, August 21 at the Ryman Auditorium. The ceremony aired Tuesday, September 24.

Wilson received the ACM’s Triple Crown Award and Milestone Award.

The ACM website explains that Wilson qualified for the former award after winning Entertainer of the Year during the regular ACM Awards in May. The Triple Crown is given to artists who win “ACM New Female Artist of the Year, ACM Female Artist of the Year, and ACM Entertainer of the Year.”

A small number of other artists, including Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, and Brooks & Dunn, have ever received the Triple Crown Award.

As for the Milestone Award, its purpose is:

“…[to honor] the contributions of Gene Weed and is presented to a Country Music artist, duo/group or industry leader for a specific, unprecedented or outstanding achievement in the field of Country Music during the preceding calendar year.  ”

Wilson certainly fits that definition. On top of winning ACM Entertainer of the Year, she won CMA Entertainer of the Year and the Grammy for Best Country Album in the past year. She also became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in June.

Wilson received a lot of love from her peers during the ACM Honors on August 21st. Billboard describes how Terri Clark performed Wilson’s “Hang Tight Honey” in tribute to the singer.

Dolly Parton sent in a congratulatory video message. To top it off, Post Malone made a surprise appearance to honor Wilson and present her awards.

When she finally took to the stage to speak, Wilson’s heart was full of gratitude. She said:

“I don’t think the milestones ever end, and I’m believing and receiving that it don’t. Every night at my shows I get to crown someone cowgirl of the night and that means… recognizing what makes them special and making them feel they can do anything they want to do. And that is what y’all have done for me. Thank you for helping me make my dreams come true… Wow, have those 13 years paid off here in this town.”
