Walker Mongomery drops a reimagined version of his dad’s hit song, “I Love The Way You Love Me”
Country singer Walker Montgomery has music in his DNA. He is the son of John Michael Montgomery and the nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery. While one might assume that Walker’s foray into country music was decided at a young age, he recently revealed that football was his first passion. It wasn’t until he stopped pursuing a career in the sport that he shifted his focus to music.
Being the son of one of the biggest names in 90s country, Walker has big shoes to fill. But he stepped up to the plate and released a remake of his dad’s famous ballad, “I Love The Way You Love Me,” on September 13th. In addition to bearing a physical resemblance to his father, it is clear that Walker has inherited his musical talents as well.

About “I Love The Way You Love Me”
“I Love The Way You Love Me” was released by John Michael Montgomery in 1992 as the second single from his debut album, Life’s A Dance. It quickly climbed both the US and Canadian Hot Country Songs charts and became the musician’s first number-one hit. Additionally, it was named Song of the Year by the Academy of Country Music later that year.

John Michael Montgomery reacts to his son’s remake of his classic song
Fans started pouring out praise as soon as Walker released his version of “I Love The Way You Love Me,” with many commending the 25-year-old for giving an old song a renewed life.
However, one person in particular whose response stood out amongst the rest was Walker’s father, John Michael Montgomery. He commented:
“So happy you gave this song a new life and are sharing it with a new generation. Amazing job, I am a proud Dad!”
John Michael later wrote on his own social pages:
“What a beautiful full circle moment. I am so happy Walker Montgomery is giving this song a new life and sharing it with a new generation. Amazing job, I am a proud Dad.”
