On Thanksgiving night, the Green Bay Packers faced off against the Miami Dolphins at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin, the Packers’ home turf.

Before the big game started, country singer Jessie G delivered a beautiful performance of the National Anthem to kick off the intense matchup.

Who is Jessie G?

Jessie G is an Oregon native who always knew that country music was her calling. Growing up, she spent much of her childhood fishing with her father and selling their catch at local markets in the small town of Brookings, which helped support her dream of becoming a country artist, according to her official website.

In 2013, her life ultimately changed when she won an opening slot at a “Battle of the Bands” contest, where she performed and caught the eye of Grammy-winning country star Gretchen Wilson. Following that success, she moved to Nashville to pursue her career and signed with Wilson’s record label, Redneck Records.

Back in August, Jessie G shared a video with her followers sharing the moment she learned the exciting news that she had been asked to sing the National Anthem for the Thanksgiving Day game.

In the clip, Jessie’s manager, speaking on speakerphone, reveals that the Green Bay Packers had reached out to ask if she would be willing to perform the National Anthem for the CBS primetime game. Jessie is visibly emotional as she reacts to the incredible honor of being asked to perform live for the televised event.
