Dolly Parton’s Sister Fires Back At Critics Of Her Dallas Cowboys Halftime Performance

Dolly Parton Performed In A Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Outfit During NFL Game On Thanksgiving
The Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving Day with a score of 45-10. But many believe the true winner of the night was Dolly Parton, who performed during halftime.

77-year-old Dolly stunned millions when she appeared wearing the iconic Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit. She performed “Jolene” and “9 to 5” before transitioning into her covers of Queen‘s “We Are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You.”

Parton covered the two songs for her newly released album Rockstar, which just became the highest-charting album of her career.

Dolly’s Sister, Stella Parton, Defends Her From Criticism Over Her Halftime Performance
While many loved Dolly’s halftime performance and her outfit, she did receive some criticism. A majority of that criticism came from those who deemed Dolly’s outfit to be too revealing, especially for someone in their 70s.
Dolly’s sister, Stella Parton, fired back at these critics in a post on X (formerly Twitter). She defended her older sister, saying:

“I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as h— in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving. To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say f— yourself. Shame on you not her.”

Though, there were far more people out there who loved Parton’s performance, and her choice of attire. You can see the support in Stella’s post defending her sister, as her followers commented:

“Dolly looked fabulous in her Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader outfit! I can only hope to look half that good at 77. Dolly Parton is a National Treasure and we are lucky to have her.”

“Your sister KILLED it in that Dallas Cowboy cheerleader outfit! She had fun and looked damned good! Good on her for doing what she wants to!”

“they are just jealous.”

“Your sister looked amazing in that costume and far better than most of us decades younger. I can only imagine it is jealousy. I think Dolly looks prettier than ever.”
