Darius Rucker Performs “God Love Her” At All-Star Toby Keith Tribute

Darius Rucker was among the first artists announced for the all-star celebration concert honoring Toby Keith.

It was announced that Rucker would perform at the Toby Keith: American Icon tribute concert with Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum, Jelly Roll, The War and Treaty, Carrie Underwood, and Lainey Wilson.

The show was held on Monday, July 29, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

A few days before the show, more performers were announced, including Jamey Johnson, Trace Adkins, Jordan Davis, Scotty Emerick, Mac McAnally, Ella Langley, and a special performance from Keith’s daughter, Krystal Keith.

Toby Keith passed away on February 5, 2024 following a years-long battle with stomach cancer. According to his website, “a portion of the ticket sales benefits The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, a cost-free home for families of children dealing with critical illnesses, and goes towards Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.”

Keith had countless hits including “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” “How Do You Like Me Now?!,” “Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue (The Angry American),” “As Good As I Once Was,” and “I Love This Bar,” there were plenty of songs for each singer to chose from.

Rucker chose to perform Keith’s 2008 hit “God Love Her.”

Rucker gave a fun performance of Keith’s “God Love Her,” smiling throughout the entire set. As he sang, he walked around, belting out the lyrics and letting the song take center stage.

Released in November 2008 as the second single from his album That Don’t Make Me a Bad Guy, the song became Keith’s 18th number one hit on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
