Search Efforts Continue As Death Toll Rises After Flooding In Texas
Many people across Texas, including country singer Pat Green, are mourning the loss of loved ones after devastating flooding swept through parts of the state over the 4th of July weekend.
Flooding began on Friday, July 4, impacting six counties across Texas. According to NBC News, at least 104 people are reported to be dead.
Water levels rose as high as 26 feet along the Guadalupe River, with Kerr County seeing the worst damage. The county has reported 84 deaths, including 56 adults and 28 children.
Search efforts are still underway to find possible survivors, including 10 children who are still missing from Camp Mystic, a summer camp located near the Guadalupe River.
The camp was hit by some of the worst flooding. Its official website confirmed that 27 campers and counselors lost their lives in the high waters.
Pat Green Shares That He And His Family Are Suffering A “Heartbreaking Loss” Amid Flooding
Country singer Pat Green, known for hit songs like “Wave on Wave,” shared that his family is facing a “heartbreaking and deeply personal loss” in the aftermath of the Texas floods.
Green shared the news in a statement on his Instagram account on Monday, July 7.
While he didn’t go into detail about the loss, he did ask for privacy during this difficult time.
“Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other, and begin to process what comes next for our family,” he wrote. “Thank you for your love, prayers, and compassion.”

Shortly after Green shared what his family was going through, his wife Kori reposted the same statement.
In her caption, she revealed that Green’s younger brother, John, his wife Julia, and two of their children were swept away by the flooding in Kerr County.
“We are heartbroken and anxiously waiting for all of them to be found. Thank you for your prayers,” she wrote.
In a recent update from KWTX 10, it was confirmed that Green’s brother has died. KHOU later reported that his brother’s wife was also confirmed dead.
As of now, their two children are still missing.
Country Stars Come Together To Show Support For Texans
As Texans deal with the tragic aftermath of the floods, many country stars have come together to show their support and share their prayers.
Texas native and country artist Robert Earl Keen has announced a benefit concert to help with recovery efforts. He also shared that all merchandise sales from his current tour will be donated to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.
“Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser is also stepping in to help. He’s sending supplies to first responders who are working around the clock to find survivors.
