Cody Johnson Delivers Powerful Message of Unity During Lincoln, Nebraska Concert

Country star Cody Johnson is using his platform to call for unity across the United States, delivering an emotional and patriotic message to thousands of fans during his concert in Lincoln, Nebraska, on September 12.

The heartfelt speech came during the week marking the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and just days after the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk and a school shooting in Colorado.

Cody Johnson Speaks Out Against Division

During his sold-out show, a fan recorded a video of Johnson pausing mid-performance to address the crowd directly.

“This is my microphone. I bought this microphone, and I have the right to say whatever I want on it,” Johnson began.

“I’m sick of division. I’ve been watching it for five years. Since 2020, social media, news, and politics have tried to divide us—over vaccines, masks, social distancing, race, gender, and politics. But these are all American rights,” he added, as the audience cheered.

Johnson made it clear that while people may have different opinions, hatred should never be the answer.

“I’m tired of living where people think it’s okay to hate someone so much over something they disagree on that they do something stupid,” he said passionately.

A Call for Unity and Respect

The “’Til You Can’t” singer emphasized the importance of respecting each other’s differences while remembering the values that unite Americans.

“I’ll always say I believe in Jesus. And the only reason we’re free is because men and women gave their lives,” Johnson stated.

“The reason it’s okay to disagree and still love one another is because American soldiers died for our freedom to disagree.”

Johnson reminded the audience that despite different backgrounds, there are three things that unite everyone: red, white, and blue.

Ending With “God Bless America”

After his powerful speech, Cody Johnson invited fans to remove their hats out of respect and performed a heartfelt rendition of “God Bless America,” dedicating it as a song of unity rather than division.
