Anne Burrell, the celebrity chef best known as the host of Food Network’s Worst Cooks In America, has died at the age of 55.

Anne Burrell’s family announced her death in a statement released via a rep on Tuesday (June 17).

Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered,” her family said, according to PEOPLE. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

reports that authorities responded to a call to Burrell’s Brooklyn, New York, home on Tuesday morning after the chef was found unresponsive.

“Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … EMS personnel received a call of a woman in need of assistance Tuesday morning after Burrell was found unresponsive inside her Brooklyn home,” TMZ reported.

Paramedics declared her deceased after being unable to revive her.

Burrell is survived by her husband of four years, Stuart Claxton, step-son, Javier, and children Isabella, Amelia, and Nicolas.
