Blake Shelton Leaves His Longtime Record Label, Warner Music Nashville
Blake Shelton Ends Longtime Partnership With Warner Music Nashville
Blake Shelton is officially leaving Warner Music after being with the label for over 20 years. On Tuesday, September 3, Shelton shared a statement expressing how thankful he is to have worked with the label for so long.
“I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal,” Shelton said. “Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some. It’s impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records and Warner Music Nashville staff and family.”
Shelton first signed with Warner Music in 2001, just before his debut hit, “Austin,” topped the charts and launched his career. Since then, he has released 11 studio albums with Warner Music Nashville, earned 28 No. 1 hits on Country Airplay, and gathered billions of global streams. Shelton has also won numerous awards, including 10 CMA Awards, such as Entertainer of the Year and five consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year Awards, along with multiple ACM, AMA, and CMT awards, among others.
After Shelton’s departure was announced, the record label issued their own statement reflecting on their long-standing relationship with him.
“Working alongside Blake these past 23 years has been an honor and a privilege,” the label shared. “Together, we’ve celebrated a record number of hit songs, sold-out tours and award wins. Blake’s talent is undeniable, but that wit of his, and the countless moments of laughter he’s given us remind us how fun this business of music can be. While our time together has come to an end, we count ourselves amongst his biggest fans and are grateful for the ride with this true gentleman and icon.”
As of right now, neither Shelton nor Warner Music has disclosed the reason for his departure. It is also unknown whether Shelton plans to sign with another label.
A few weeks before announcing his departure from his record label, Shelton revealed exciting news about his first-ever residency in Las Vegas.
Titled Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas, the “Ol’ Red” singer will perform a series of six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from February 5 to February 15, 2025.
