Billy Ray Cyrus releases deluxe edition of ‘THE HILL’ with new tracks.

Billy Ray Cyrus unveils a heartfelt journey through his past and present with the release of THE HILL (Deluxe), now available for fans worldwide.

This deluxe edition enriches Cyrus’s original album with fresh collaborations featuring his children, Miley and Noah Cyrus, along with a nostalgic reimagining of a song from his Hannah Montana days. The album also highlights a moving track he first recorded three decades ago, illustrating the artist’s evolution and personal connections.

A Family Affair

One of the standout tracks, “You Are My Everything,” holds special significance for Cyrus. He reminisces about a cherished moment when Miley, during a car ride to the Hannah Montana set approximately 20 years ago, urged him to appreciate the song she believed was his best. In the deluxe edition, Billy Ray revisits this musical piece with his son Braison, dedicating the new version to Miley, her husband Maxx Morando, and his partner Elizabeth Hurley.

I remember 20 years ago as I was driving Miley and me to the Hannah Montana set and she kept saying to me, ‘Do you hear me? ‘You Are My Everything’ is the best song you’ve ever written…Daddy…Are you listening with your ears?!’ Haha – I heard you Miley!

This touchstone reflects both familial bonds and the artist’s gratitude for his loved ones as he introduces this new version.

Honoring the Past

The expanded album also features collaborative efforts that enrich the original release. Notably, Cyrus joins Noah on an acoustic rendition of “On Our Way Along,” while he pays homage to John Prine with a cover of “Storm Windows” alongside DELTONA. Additionally, he marks the 20th anniversary of “I Want My Mullet Back” with a new take of the song that initially appeared on Hannah Montana.

Another significant piece is “Storm In The Heartland,” recorded in the same studio where Billy Ray originally laid down the track three decades earlier. This revisit gains emotional weight given the recent environmental challenges faced by many, encapsulating themes of resilience amid hardship.

It’s so crazy. Talk about full circle. We re-cut ‘Storm In The Heartland’ in the same studio where I originally recorded it 30 years ago. So appropriate and ironic after the devastating storms and flooding.

The original THE HILL debuted in June, marking Billy Ray’s first collection of new studio recordings in 14 years. With the deluxe edition, he invites listeners to engage with a deeper narrative that weaves together family ties, cherished memories, and new artistic expressions.

Billy Ray concludes, “I can’t wait for everyone to hear the Deluxe! This has been a lot of fun. What a year it’s been. Thankful for God’s timing.”
