“The Voice” Contestant Delivers “Blue” Cover That Reba Says Would Make LeAnn Rimes “So Proud”
The Voice Knockout Stage Is Proving To Be One Of The Best Weeks On The Voice This Season
After a riveting round of Blind Auditions, each coach walked away from that round with 12 incredible singers.
It proved to be a successful move, seeing as he won his Battle Round and as of Tuesday night (Nov. 11), he won his Knockout Round. Mitchell stood out from the rest of the pack, and so did a singer named Kayleigh Clark.
Clark has been impressing the judges, and the viewers at home, since she first stepped foot on The Voice stage. She earned a four-chair turn during her Blind Audition for her rendition of Sugarland’s hit song “Stay.”
In a shocking turn of events, Kayleigh chose Niall Horan as her coach!
She then won her Battle Round against Camille Tredoux following their incredible “Cowboys Cry Too” duet.
Kayleigh’s Knockout Round Made Reba Proud
Kayleigh Clark chose LeAnn Rimes’ “Blue,” which features some yodeling skills that would make even the most seasoned country singer scared.
Clark tackled the performance with such ease that viewers thought she’d been yodeling her whole life. After her performance, Reba McEntire said, “Kaleigh, that was wonderful. LeAnn will be so proud. Your yodels were really, really perfect.”
Clark’s coach thought both she and her competition, DEK of Hearts, did so well, he truly didn’t know who he was going to choose to advance until the last second. He ended up choosing DEK of hearts as the winners and used his Mic Drop on them. This means the trio will be up for America’s vote to perform in the iconic Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.
Although Clark did not win the Knockout Round, and her time on The Voice has come to an end, she made quite a mark on the coaches and viewers. See some of the fan reactions to her performance below.
“Her voice sounds like it’s already tuned, so precise in those yodels. Enjoyed her take on this song, working the stage, and really making the most of her vibrato.”
“I wished they still have Saves and steals….she did an excellent job”
“I’m so done with the season already. She did this song justice and deserves to still be in the competition”
