Erika Kirk Shares Moving Tribute Commemorating Charlie’s First “Week In Heaven”

Just over a week after Charlie Kirk was tragically killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, his wife Erika Kirk has shared a powerful and emotional tribute remembering her husband’s life, legacy, and love.

Erika Kirk Shares Moving Message About Charlie Kirk’s Legacy

On September 17, Erika posted one of the last photos taken of Charlie, writing:

“This is one of the last photos taken of you before you were murdered. I look at it and can’t help but see excellence.”

She continued her heartfelt message, explaining how Charlie lived his life in constant pursuit of greatness:

“You loved witnessing excellence. It’s why you loved sports so much. You loved watching the best of the best perform at the level of greatness God intended for them.”

Erika recalled how they bonded over basketball when they first began dating in 2019, sharing how they loved watching Michael Jordan, who inspired both of them to strive for greatness.

She also described the red bracelet Charlie always wore, which read: “Work harder, be better.” Years later, after an event, Charlie gifted that bracelet to a student who admired it, showing the kind of generous impact he left on people everywhere he went.

“Your ‘Jordan’ Moment”: Erika Remembers His Final Photo

Erika included a photo of Charlie tossing Turning Point USA hats into a crowd at Utah Valley University just minutes before he was killed. She called this his ultimate “Jordan photo”:

“You’re in your element. You’re in athlete mode. Training for this exact moment, mind, body, and soul… This photo is permanently etched in time, held in my heart, as I admire your greatness. Forever.”

She concluded her tribute with,

“I pray you’ve had the most amazing week in Heaven.”

Charlie and Erika’s Love Story

Erika’s tribute came just days after she shared a video describing their relationship as her “favorite love story.” The couple met in 2019, got engaged in 2020, and married in 2021. They have two children together.

In a 2024 Q&A on The Charlie Kirk Show, they opened up about how they knew it was time to get married. Erika said, “You just know… and plus, we were ready to start our life together.”

When asked who was more conservative, Charlie smiled and said Erika was “by far, not even close,” joking that she made him seem moderate by comparison.
