Kelly Clarkson Returns After Personal Loss
This season comes just weeks after Clarkson suffered the devastating loss of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, the father of her two children.
In recent months, Clarkson stepped away from her career several times to focus on her family. In March, she missed 10 tapings of her show, which caused concern among fans.
Speaking to viewers upon her return, Clarkson explained:
“It was kind of a dark week for me and my family … it brought my kids out of a sad time to just a normal kind of time.”
In addition, Clarkson postponed several dates of her Las Vegas Studio Sessions residency in August, citing her children’s need for her presence while their father was ill.
