Toby Keith & Kris Kristofferson Honored During Grammys “In Memoriam” Segment
Chris Martin Honors Members Of The Music Community Who Passed Away With Tribute Performance At The 2025 Grammy Awards
Toby Keith was among those honored during the Grammys’ emotional “In Memoriam” segment this year.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin took to the stage toward the end of the ceremony to deliver the tribute. He played the piano and performed Coldplay’s 2024 single, “All My Love. ” He was accompanied by Grace Bowers on guitar and a string orchestra.
The segment opened with a tribute to Liam Payne, who tragically passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 31. Payne was known as a solo artist and for being a member of the boy band One Direction.

Other artists who received recognition during the tribute included Cissy Houston, Dickey Betts, Wayne Osmond, and Tito Jackson.
The tribute also honored Ben Vaughn, the President and CEO of Warner Chappell Nashville. Vaughn passed away on Thursday (January 30) at the age of 49.
Toby Keith, Kris Kristofferson, and Joe Bonsall Receive Tributes In The Grammys’ “In Memoriam” Segment
Martin and the Grammys also honored several members of the country music community who passed away in the past year. The “In Memoriam” segment recognized Joe Bonsall of the Oak Ridge Boys, Kris Kristofferson, and Toby Keith.
Keith passed away on February 5, 2024, following a years-long battle with stomach cancer. He died just one day after last year’s Grammys, which is why he wasn’t recognized until this year.
Bonsall died on July 9, 2024, at the age of 76, following a private battle with ALS.
Kristofferson passed away on September 28, 2024, at the age of 88. His death left Willie Nelson as the last surviving member of the country music supergroup The Highwaymen.
