“Yours” was inspired by Post Malone’s daughter

The song ‘Yours” is the last track on the album, but it is quite possibly the most personal. The song is inspired by his two-year-old daughter, thinking about the day he will walk her down the aisle at her wedding. He sings,

“When I walk her down that aisle and do what daddies have to do /

And she might be wearing white, but her first dress it was pink.”

Post Malone rarely talks about his daughter and fiancé and has never shared photos of them, so this song is our glimpse into his life as a father.

Post Malone opened the show with Chris Stapleton, performing their duet “California Sober.”

Both came back to the CMA Awards stage at Bridgestone Arena to perform solo, with Post Malone performing his deeply personal song, “Yours.”

Audience members looks visibly emotional as Post Malone was singing about his daughter. You could tell it hit home for a lot of the singers!
