George Strait to be Honored with the CMA Lifetime Achievement Award
The 58th Annual CMA Awards will honor country music legend George Strait
Country music’s best and brightest will gather at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 20th, to celebrate the 58th annual CMA Awards. Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning will return to host the ceremony and will be joined by reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson.
Largely considered to be “country music’s biggest night,” the CMA Awards is the longest-running annual music awards program on network television.
The exciting lineup of performances from Chris Stapleton, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, and more will surely make the night memorable.

George Strait to receive the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award
Ahead of the ceremony, the Country Music Association (CMA) announced that country music icon George Strait will be the recipient of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer, shared in a press release:
“There have been few other artists as authentically Texas and authentically Country as George Strait, and Country Music fans all over the world have been better for it. As a three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and the most nominated artist of all time, he serves as an inspiration and icon to many of the great, new artists we know today. I am thrilled we are awarding him with this deserving honor next month.”

How George Strait’s career earned him the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes artists who have “achieved both national and international prominence and stature through concert performances, humanitarian efforts, philanthropy, streaming numbers, record sales, and public representation at the highest level.”
Throughout his career spanning over four decades, George Strait has charted an astounding 60 no.1 singles and boasts 33 platinum or multi-platinum-selling albums. Additionally, he is the only artist in history to have earned a Top 10 hit every single year for more than three decades.
The Texas native is a member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Previous recipients of the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award include Willie Nelson (2012), Kenny Rogers (2013), Johnny Cash (2015), Dolly Parton (2016), Kris Kristofferson (2019), Charley Pride (2020), Loretta Lynn (2021) and Alan Jackson (2022)
A “star-studded performance by several artists” will also honor Strait with a tribute performance during the awards show.
The CMA Awards will air live on ABC at 8/7c on November 20th and will be available for streaming the next day.
