Jelly Roll’s Wife Claps Back at ‘Gross’ Comments About Their IVF Journey
Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, is standing up against hateful comments about the couple’s journey towards having a baby.
Specifically, Bunnie takes issue with fans who’ve had negative things to say about their decision to pursue surrogacy. She shared a screenshot of a Facebook comment from a user who opined that “carrying the child is so much more of the natural experience of motherhood.”
The comment also implied that Bunnie was choosing surrogacy over pregnancy in order to avoid physical changes to her body — an assumption that the singer’s wife vehemently denied.
“This is so gross. You guys think I don’t want to carry because of my body lol,” she wrote in response.
In fact, Bunnie — who is in her 40s — says she’s planning on surrogacy due to her age and medical history.
“I’m scared to [get pregnant] because I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages AND at my age I do not want to go thru that again,” she states, “nor do we have time for me to [experience ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages] because our life is happening so fast.”
In a clip she shared from the newest episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie also discussed her concerns about how a pregnancy would affect her mental health, stressing that it took her years to control her anxiety and depression.
Jelly and Bunnie started the long process of in vitro fertiization (IVF) back in 2019, but they didn’t publicly discuss their journey until last month. She acknowledged that the fan response has been overwhelmingly supportive, but the negative comments have been hurtful — so much so that they’ll be keeping the experience more private going forward.
“From here on out, I want to keep it private,” she says. “…I just want something that’s ours. I just want this private journey. So the next time you guys hear me talk about IVF or the babies is gonna be when the babies are born.
“I keep saying ‘babies’ and ‘kids,'” Bunnie adds. “I think we wanna have twin boys. I’m not sure. We could have one, we could have two. I’m not sure what we’re gonna do yet.”
