Ernest felt directionless before parting ways with Ella Langley’s tour.

Ernest announces a temporary hiatus from touring as he focuses on personal growth and reconnecting with his faith.

On August 31, the singer-songwriter shared his decision to step back from the road during a social media update. Citing the emotional toll of touring, he expressed his need to “get myself and my priorities back in order.” As he embarks on this journey of self-discovery, Ernest is committed to returning rejuvenated and stronger for his fans.

Ernest’s Journey of Self-Reflection

In a follow-up post on September 7, Ernest expressed gratitude to fans for their understanding during this challenging time. “Just checking in to say thank you for all the love and support,” he said. He candidly shared, “Bottom line is I was LOST… I reckon I still am… but the search is on… and that’s new to me.”

Echoing themes of introspection, his decision aligns with fellow artist Ella Langley, who also took a break to realign her priorities. Ernest shared that during this time, he is rediscovering his spiritual roots and reflecting on his relationship with God. Having grown up in a church environment, he acknowledged feeling burnt out, but aims to rekindle that connection.

“I have spent far too long relying on my own (dumba–) way and thinking I can outsmart my better judgment,” he wrote. “But I do know where it’s starting… a dialogue with something greater than ME.”

Ernest concluded by expressing his dedication to becoming the best version of himself for those around him, saying he is committed to “taking this time to dig and discover.”

Artists Prioritizing Mental Health

The decision to pause touring reflects a growing trend among artists prioritizing mental health, with several, including Randall King, Jake Worthington, and Justin Moore, opting for time away from the stage to focus on their well-being. In 2026, a notable number of shows have been canceled or postponed for various reasons, including this vital aspect of mental health.

As Ernest takes this important step, fans can look forward to his return, hopeful for the new music and insights that will emerge from this period of reflection and growth.
