A New Country Music Competition Comes to CBS

The Road is an upcoming competition series on CBS that blends reality TV with country music. The show will debut on Sunday, October 19, 2025, and promises a mix of star power, rising talent, and high-stakes performances.

What Viewers Can Expect

The series follows 12 aspiring singers as they travel across America. Contestants will experience the challenges of touring life while chasing their dreams of becoming professional artists.

Each contestant will open for country superstar Keith Urban, who also serves as the show’s headliner and co-executive producer. Gretchen Wilson will step in as their “tour manager,” guiding the singers through the pressures of the road.

A live audience will vote on who advances to the next stop on tour. The winner will claim a $250,000 grand prize and a recording contract.

The Star-Studded Team Behind The Road

In addition to Keith Urban, the production team includes Blake Shelton, David Glasser, Lee Metzger, and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Together, they bring major country credibility and TV expertise to the series.

On September 4, 2025, CBS and Paramount announced that five more country stars will appear on The Road as special guest advisors. These artists will mentor contestants alongside Urban, Shelton, and Wilson:
