Carrie Underwood‘s bilingual duet with David Bisbal at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards gave us chills–but it was her high-cut haute couture Iris van Herpen gown for the red carpet that is truly dominating our thoughts this week.
The “Before He Cheats” singer appeared at the annual awards show to sing her Spanish-English banger “Tears Of Gold” live for the first-time ever on April 15th, ICYMI. And while she wore a skintight black bodysuit for that memorable performance, it was her red hot high-slit gown Dutch fashion designer that made the real waves.
People on social media were freaking out about the country superstar’s ombre red-to-purple dress, which she completed with oversized hoops and black strappy sandals. Perfection!
The “American Idol” alum was a show-stopper at the Telemundo-sponsored awards show. We would say that this leggy, off-the-shoulder number is unlike anything we’ve seen the country crooner wear on a red carpet. It shows SO much leg and is much more structural than her usual whimsical, girly glam aesthetic.
The dress is from the Dutch label’s 2019 spring collection and the draping of which is meant to look like a “monarch butterfly with sunrise coloring.” Wow!
Even though Carrie went home empty-handed from the awards ceremony (her video for “Tears of Gold” lost in its category), we’d say Carrie takes home a style award for stepping out of her comfort zone! Would you agree? Drop a comment below.
