What’s Going On With Kane Brown? Singer Shares Troubling Message About Depression During the CMA Awards
The Country Artist Described Himself As An Underdog
In the evening of November 19, just minutes before the 59th CMA Awards began, country artist Kane Brown posted a somewhat cryptic message on his social media accounts.
Kane, who was not nominated at the CMA Awards this year, wrote at 7:55 p.m., “Today’s just another day I’m beating my self up and I’m feeling down but I will never let it beat me.”
He added, “All my under dogs out there keep fighting.”
Earlier in the year, on January 24, Kane released his fourth studio album, The High Road.
Prior to the release of the album, which was not nominated at the CMA Awards, Kane had accrued four CMA nominations, with three in 2021 for Chris Young’s song “Famous Friends.” In 2023, he received his fourth CMA nomination, this time for Musical Event of the Year for his song “Thank God,” which features his wife, Katelyn Brown.
Included with his post was an audio file with some lyrics, which begins by telling some of Kane’s own life story. Singing “Daddy’s in jail and Momma’s single,” the 32-year-old artist is referring to his own situation growing up, as his father has been reportedly incarcerated since 1996.
