We Still Haven’t Recovered From The High-Slit Butterfly Gown Carrie Underwood Wore To The Latin American Music Awards

Carrie Underwood

With the 2023 Latin American Music Awards coming up on April 20th this week, we’re taking a trip down memory lane and recalling our favorite red carpet ensembles from past ceremonies. Naturally, Carrie Underwood‘s exquisite high-cut haute couture Iris van Herpen gown from the 2021 show still dominates our thoughts, two years later.

The Grammy winner’s bilingual duet with David Bisbal at the LAMAs back then gave us chills, and we are still fawning over her curve-hugging and waist-emphasizing dress from the event. The “Before He Cheats” singer and style icon appeared at the annual awards show to sing her Spanish-English banger “Tears Of Gold” live for the first-time ever on April 15th that year, ICYMI.

Remember When Carrie Underwood Rocked A High-Slit Multicolored Butterfly-Inspired Gown?
While she wore a skintight black bodysuit for that memorable performance, it was her red hot high-slit gown Dutch fashion designer that made the real waves. People on social media were freaking out about the country superstar’s ombre red-to-purple dress, which she completed with oversized hoops and black strappy sandals. Perfection!

The “American Idol” alum was a show-stopper at the Telemundo-sponsored awards show. We would say that this leggy, off-the-shoulder number is unlike anything we’ve seen the country crooner wear on a red carpet. It shows SO much leg and is much more structural than her usual whimsical, girly glam aesthetic.
