Oklahoma native and country music superstar Carrie Underwood is getting back to her rural roots as part of her healthy lifestyle.
Underwood, who is celebrating her 37th birthday today, appeared Monday on “The Rachael Ray Show,” where the vegetarian shared with the host that her family has started raising chickens and enjoys eating the fresh eggs.
“The day they got there, I was like, ‘Ladies, you just hit the jackpot. You’re just gonna be our little pets and live here forever and live the good life,” Underwood said. “Our ladies are happy ladies.”
In addition to working with Ray in the kitchen, Underwood chatted with the TV host about feeding her family and getting in her workouts on the daytime show.
As previously reported, Underwood has been making the media rounds in support of her new book “Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life.”
The book was released last week via Dey Street Books, an imprint of the William Morrow Group at HarperCollins Publishers.
As previously reported, “Find Your Path” is the first book from the multiplatinum-selling, award-winning singer, songwriter and fitness and lifestyle entrepreneur.
The Oklahoma native calls her Fit52 program, which she shares with readers in the book, a sustainable approach to staying active, eating well and feeling healthy. She also is celebrating the release of a new app to go with the book.
As previously reported, Underwood appeared Friday on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where she faced off against the host in the “Fittest of the Fit Challenge.” Watch here.
Also as previously reported, she appeared last week on NBC’s “Today” show, where she talked about the book, demonstrated a recipe for “ugly” slow cooker lasagna and gave a workout demonstration. Watch here.
As previously reported, in the midst of her book tour, the seven-time Grammy Award winner will play a home-state concert Saturday at the Choctaw Grand Theater at the Choctaw Casinos & Resorts in Durant.
