Tim McGraw Backs Out Of Upcoming Netflix Series Due To Health Issues
Tim McGraw Exits Upcoming Netflix Series
Earlier last year, it was announced that Tim McGraw would star in and executive produce an untitled series for Netflix about a professional bull rider. Now, reports say that he will not be a part of the project.
McGraw’s departure from the show was confirmed by Deadline, which reported that the country superstar is stepping away to undergo back surgery. A source who is friends with the “Highway Don’t Care” singer told the outlet that the procedure will require a recovery period.
News of McGraw’s health issues comes soon after he had surgery on both knees in August for an injury he suffered on tour. The incident forced him to cancel his remaining shows. It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not his back surgery is related to the same injury though.
The role intended for McGraw would have been too physically demanding for the country superstar.
Deadline shared that the series follows a champion bull rider who faces “a life-or-death crossroads when confronted by the arrival of a fearless young rider whose very existence challenges his ways and unearths secrets that force him to reckon with his past.”
The project was written and created by Brandon Camp and is produced by Skydance Television, along with McGraw’s own entertainment company, Down Home.
