“The Voice” Introduces New “Game-Changing” Rule

During the Season 26 premiere of The Voice, host Carson Daly revealed a brand-new rule that could change everything.

The Voice premiered on NBC on Monday, September 23rd for its 26th season. Before anyone could audition for the coaches on the iconic stage, Carson Daly gave fans – and the coaches – an update.
This season’s coaches are newcomers Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé, Gwen Stefani, and reigning champ Reba McEntire.

The Voice has decided to introduce something brand new this season called the Coach Replay button, which the show has said is a game-changing rule!

What is the Coach Replay Button?

At the start of the episode, Daly explained to the coaches, “When the Audition is over, you have a second chance to go back and get that Artist by pressing your button.”

Each coach will still get one block per season, but they will also get one Coach Replay.

Here’s how the Coach Replay works:

After the artist finishes their audition, all the chairs turn to face the singer, who then shares a bit of their story. If a coach, who didn’t turn initially, feels moved by the singer after talking to them, they can hit their Coach Replay button to make another attempt at winning them.

37-year-old Kendall Eugene performed Morgan Wallen’s “Don’t Think Jesus” and no one turned their chair for him. All the coaches had different reasons for not turning, despite his nearly pitch-perfect audition.

As each coach was talking to him, McEntire said, “Your style is totally different than anything we’ve heard today. I liked everything about it.”

Kendall responded, “[You] shoulda turned.”

McEntire said, “I was gonna say those exact same words!”

While Snoop Dogg talked to him, McEntire sat in her chair with her jaw dropped. She said once again, “I do not understand why I did not turn around.”

And with that, she pressed the Coach Replay button for the very first time and Kendall became a member of Team Reba!
