“The Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond Announces Birth Of First Grandchild
Ree Drummond is a grandma! The Pioneer Woman is celebrating the birth of her first grandchild, a baby girl named Sofia.
Ree Drummond’s daughter, Alex, gave birth to her first child early Wednesday morning, according to a blog post written by Ree.
“My heart is exploding with happiness,” Ree wrote. “My daughter just had a daughter. I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head (and heart) around it all.”
The proud grandma shared that she arrived at the hospital in Dallas just before Alex delivered Sofia Marie, and praised Alex’s husband, Mauricio Scott, for his support and attentiveness during the birth. Ree also shared a series of photos of the precious newborn, whom she says is “perfect,” and we don’t disagree!
Alex and Mauricio announced in June that they were expecting their first child.
In a sweet post shared to Instagram, Alex shared the exciting news, saying, “We can’t wait to meet you, little one. 🤍 Baby Scott joining the party this winter! Thank you Lord for this precious gift 😇”

A month later they shared a gender reveal video that included their sweet pup, a golden retriever named George. The couple fed George a cupcake with a colored center that revealed they were expecting a baby girl!

Alex’s sister, Paige, and friends celebrated Sofia’s impending arrival with a baby shower in late October. Both Ree and Alex shared photos from the event. The mom-to-be shared a video that showed plenty of pink decor, a stunning food table, and photos of herself as a baby displayed throughout.
About Alex Drummond and Mauricio Scott
Alex is the oldest of four children of Ree and Ladd Drummond. In 2021, she married her longtime friend Mauricio in a stunning ceremony held on the Drummond family ranch in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
The ceremony was followed by a dreamy, floral-filled reception. The newlyweds honeymooned in the Maldives before moving into their first home in Dallas.
