Robert Irwin “Owned” The Dance Floor On ‘DWTS’ Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Night

Week 8 of Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars brought couples dances and team dances for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night.

Only eight teams of dancers remain, and only three weeks of competition remain in the 34th season of Dancing With the Stars. Last week’s Halloween-themed performances delivered the highest scores of the season so far, evidence that the competition is heating up coming into the final stretch.

On Tuesday night (November 4), each team paid tribute to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by dancing to some of the genre’s biggest hits. In addition to taking the floor as pairs, contestants were divided into teams and joined by hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough for a team dance competition.

Kool & the Gang and Chicago were in the house to deliver live performances for the team competition. Julianne Hough, Andy Richter and Emma Slater, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten made up Team Kool and danced to the band’s Grammy Hall of Fame song “Celebration.”

Alfonso Ribeiro, Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, and Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach made up Team Chicago and performed to the group’s 1970 hit, “25 or 6 to 4.”

All eyes were on the season’s frontrunners, including wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and his partner Witney Carson.

Robert and Witney earned their first 10s, two of them, after last week’s performance. They avoided elimination and ended the night in second place.

“Thank you for voting – we feel your love and support as you come along on this journey… and it truly means the world to me,” Irwin said in a TikTok video prior to Tuesday’s dance.

The pair took to the dance floor to perform a Paso Doble routine choreographed to the White Stripes’ “Icky Thump.”

The judges praised Irwin’s dance, with Derek Hough telling the star, “Robert, the matador, you didn’t just dominate, you owned this arena.”

Carrie Ann Inaba agreed, saying, “Robert, you have something that’s happening that can take you to the finish line. It’s called momentum. You are in the zone at the right moment.”

Robert and Witney were awarded 38 out of 40 points! See their incredible dance in the video below.
