Remember When Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood Brought the House Down with ‘Somethin’ Bad?’

Carrie Underwood MIRANDA LAMBERT

Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood made “Somethin’ Bad” sound pretty darn good when they debuted the fiery collaboration at the Billboard Music Awards in 2014.

The pair joined forces for a red-hot performance of the rebellious country anthem during the star-studded show. Complete with pyrotechnics, leather and a whole lot of sass, the country queens commanded the stage as the audience rose to their feet to cheer the country powerhouses on.

This performance marked the superstars’ debut of “Somethin’ Bad,” which appeared on Lambert’s 2014 Platinum album. The song went on to reach No.1 at country radio, earning Lambert her fifth chart-topping single and found Underwood celebrating her 13th No.1.

Before the song was released, Lambert opened up about recording with Underwood and admitted it was a bit “nerve-wracking.”

“Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating — I mean, I’ll be honest,” she once told Yahoo. “She is an amazing vocalist. I’m a big fan of hers, and asking her to do this was nerve-racking.”

Despite her initial thoughts, Lambert held her own alongside Underwood and they made magic in the studio. Having a song featuring two powerful female voices was something the Texas native was very proud of.

“It’s been too long since two girls in our genre have come together like that,” she said, “especially on a song that’s kind of in your face.”
