Reba and Malibu Country watchers are celebrating as their favorite country star, Reba McEntire, has announced an upcoming appearance in a show that seems like a perfect fit. The multi-talented entertainer heads to the small screen for a guest appearance on the popular Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon in February.
Reba will take on the role of “June,” the ex-wife of Coach Ballard, played by Craig T. Nelson. The country icon becomes fast friends with Meemaw, played by Annie Potts, who is dating Ballard and is the grandmother of the show’s namesake. Coincidentally, Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean on Reba also has a recurring role on Young Sheldon as a neighbor and the mother of Sheldon’s friend.
And Reba already has the appropriate accent and twang for the show, which is set in Texas. But as much as we’d like to see this as a recurring role (or to see Reba return to weekly television), there has been no evidence that this will be the case.
Could this turn into a recurring role or could it lead to a new weekly series? That remains unknown, however, the country music superstar has made guest appearances on other shows, including Last Man Standing and Baby Daddy, so keep your eyes and ears open.
