Congratulations go out to Reba McEntire. Or maybe they should go out to Universal Music Group. The successful record label that boasts a roster that includes George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Jon Pardi, Lauren Alaina, Darius Rucker, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Kacey Musgraves, Sam Hunt, Kip Moore, Maddie and Tae and so many more has just added everyone’s favorite redhead to their roster, and actually, it’s a return to her first label home.
The news was announced during the record label’s industry luncheon at Country Radio Seminar.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to be back with the family where I started,” shares Reba. “I am thrilled because my catalog is here at Universal and I’m really excited to revisit all the songs that I recorded many years ago. We’re going to have a lot of fun.”
No doubt!
Now, longtime Reba fans will remember that the singer was on MCA Records early in her career. In 2011, MCA and its sister label, Mercury, merged with Capitol Records and its sister label, EMI. The combination resulted in UMGN — Universal Music Group Nashville — is the parent or umbrella company that includes MCA, Capitol, EMI and Mercury. They are one of the “big three” record labels in the music industry and boast some of the best in the biz: past, present and future.
Just because Reba is back on her old record label doesn’t mean she’s coasting or resting on her laurels. She couldn’t if she tried. Next month on March 20, she’s back out on the road for her first headlining tour since 2011 with Caylee Hammack. She’ll also return to Las Vegas with her great friends, Brooks and Dunn, for another residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace.
And don’t forget to share this story with your family and friends.
Bless Your Heart!
