Reba McEntire’s New TV Show Debuts On October 18

After much anticipation, Reba McEntire has released the theme song from her new sitcom, Happy’s Place.

Happy’s Place will premiere on NBC at 8 PM ET on Friday, October 18. The show follows McEntire as Bobbie, a woman who inherits her late father’s restaurant and learns about a half-sister she never knew she had.

Fellow cast members include Melissa Peterman, McEntire’s former Reba co-star; Rex Linn, McEntire’s real-life boyfriend; and Belissa Escobedo, star of Hocus Pocus 2.

Fans were naturally curious to know if McEntire would be singing the Happy’s Place theme song. She famously performed the theme song for her Reba sitcom, “I’m a Survivor.”

McEntire eventually confirmed she would, indeed, be singing the theme song for Happy’s Place. Fans anxiously waited for her to release the tune…and she finally did!

Hear Reba McEntire Sing The Happy’s Place Theme Song

The Happy’s Place theme song, also titled “Happy’s Place,” dropped on Friday (October 11).

In an interview with USA TODAY, McEntire shared that she wrote the song with one of her good friends, the legendary singer and songwriter Carole King. Doug Sisemore also served as a co-writer.

“I emailed her and told her the situation,” McEntire said. “She said that she’d love to help out. I hadn’t seen her in maybe four years, but we’re friends.”

McEntire and King met at the home of King’s daughter, actress Sherry Kondor, to work on the Happy’s Place theme song. Their songwriting session was a true collaborative effort, as McEntire explained:

“I had the beginning and a chorus but mainly the melody. Then [King] came in and wrote the lyrics and added a melody. I said, ‘Carole, I really love my melody and I love your lyrics.’ So she said, ‘Throw them together.’”

The song has a lively country groove and uplifting lyrics to match. McEntire encourages the listeners to leave their troubles behind and head on over to Happy’s Place, where they’ll find happiness and friendship.

As she sings at one point in the chorus, “In here love never goes to waste. Right here in Happy’s Place.”
